Bio
A highly experienced aerialist and figure skater Alissa Blackledge has performed internationally and throughout the UK since graduating from the National Centre for Circus Arts (NCCA).
She is a multidisciplinary circus artist, performing on numerous pieces of aerial equipment, roller skating, figure skating and performing fire. Alissa has a breadth of experience within the industry, for example: Specialty Act in Buddha Bar Marrakech, Duo Aerialist at The Roundhouse London, Solo Aerialist at the Opening Ceremony of South Essex Gymnastics Centre, Dancer for the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra at the Bridgewater Hall and a teacher at the National Centre for Circus Arts.
Background
Prior to moving to London to pursue her career within the world of circus she received a First BA (Hons) degree in Dance and Physical Theatre at the University of Salford. She then continued her studies at NCCA where she gained a Masters Degree in Circus Arts. She has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in many areas of the performance sector, ranging from training in Musical Theatre from the age of 4, Ballroom & Latin American from the age of 7, Horse Riding and being a competitive figure skater in her teens.
Alissa has a theatrical outlook on aerial and circus as a whole. She fuses her performance experience to create innovative circus both individually and within ensembles.
